Summary

Two single thirty-year-olds。 One marriage pact。 And a night in Vegas that's about to change everything。。。

On Christmas Eve eight years ago Evie and Dan made a pact: if they weren't married by thirty, they were going to marry each other。 Of course, neither of them took it seriously, even if Dan has always been mesmerised by Evie's beautiful smile, and Evie has always fancied Dan, her best-friend's brother。

But then "it" happens。 They wake up on Christmas Eve, the night before Evie's thirtieth birthday in Vegas。。。 married。 In a honeymoon suite filled with hundreds of heart-shaped pillows, they realise too late what they've done - just like Ross and Rachel。

Surely if they just get a quickie divorce, they can go back to the way things used to be, right? If it wasn't for the alcohol and Susan-with-the-huge-beehive-hairdo who just wouldn't take no for an answer, none of this would have happened。 They can just go back to being friends。

Except moving on is easier said than done when you've secretly loved each other forever。。。 but if one of them doesn't admit that, what happens to their friendship? If they don't get together this time, what happens to the pact? Are they really ready to let it go for good?

Fall in love this Christmas with this feel-good story about love and second chances。 Fans of One Day in December, This Time Next Year and Beth O'Leary will adore The Mistletoe Pact。

A good read for the season。 I liked that we got both Evie and Dan’s point of views, the years leading up to the events, and that it was not a short time thing either。 There were moments I felt it was dragging a little, but it made up for it with the build up。 It seemed like a realistic situation。 A solid three for me this Christmas season。 🎄🎄🎄

One of my favorite things about the holiday season is reading holiday rom-coms! This one was my first one of the year and it was a fun, quick read to start the holiday season。 It starts out with Evie and Dan waking up to discover they have gotten married in a Ross and Rachel style Vegas wedding。 After that, the reader is taken on a journey through flashbacks leading up to this moment and the events that happen after this moment。 I loved that a lot of it took place in a British country village (a One of my favorite things about the holiday season is reading holiday rom-coms! It may not be my favorite holiday rom-com ever, but I still found it entertaining and festive and a good read to start the holiday season。 。。。more

"It would always be scary when you loved someone this much。 But, good-scary, rather than miserable-lonely。"Dan and Evie make a mistletoe pact years ago stating that they would get married with each other if both of them were still single when they reach the age of thirty。 After getting drunk in Vegas for Evie's 30th birthday, they wake up next to each other being a married couple。But, surely they could just get a divorce and move on, pretend nothing happen at all。 The question is, can they "It would always be scary when you loved someone this much。 But, good-scary, rather than miserable-lonely。"Dan and Evie make a mistletoe pact years ago stating that they would get married with each other if both of them were still single when they reach the age of thirty。 After getting drunk in Vegas for Evie's 30th birthday, they wake up next to each other being a married couple。But, surely they could just get a divorce and move on, pretend nothing happen at all。 The question is, can they ? when they have strong feelings each other after all these years ?Mistletoe Pact has an interesting premise and the cover is so gorgeous with Christmas vibes that I finally decided to read this book。 I was quite surprised to find out that the book took a different path than what I thought it was going to be。The multiple POVs and timeline is also a nice touch to the story so the readers got to see the journey of how Evie and Dan's relationship grows。 Evie and Dan are actually good characters, they're relatable and I understand their fear of loving someone too much due to their parents situation。 However despite all that stuff, I feel like I wanted something more out from this story。 One unfortunate thing from this story is how Evie and Dan just got a divorce like that without exploring or talk things out between them。 Things might go in a different way。This book has a lot of angst and jealousy pack inside; how Evie is pining for Dan for years but Dan never makes a move and how each of them brings another girlfriend/boyfriend that causes the other burning with jealousy but can't do anything。 It's frustrating I'm not gonna lie, I wanted to skip to the end to read the part where they finally admit their feelings with each other。 Overall, I didn't hate it that much but, it wasn't that great either。 It was a good simple story。 If you enjoy reading a very slow burn romance with lots of angst with a holiday setting then this book might be for you!Actual rating: 3。5⭐Thank you to Netgalley, Jo Lovett and Bookouture for granting me this e-ARC in exchange for an honest review! 。。。more

I don't know if it's because I'm not British and those are words traditionally used there, but while this confused me, it didn't hinder my love of the writing。 I will say, though, that if you're going to read this book, you shouldn't hold onto the synopsis too tightly, since the Vegas wedding is only used as a starting off point, if that。 The book is closer to a look at these two characters over more than a decade of their life, and while the effects of the vegas wedding or pact are discussed, it's only a small part of the novel。 。。。more

This was a harder read for me from the books I usually like。 I loved the premise of the book。 Friends forever who made a pact that eh eh will get married if they aren’t with others by the time they are 30。 Whet could go wrong?
